Abstract

Experiment was conducted during 2013- 14 at Sugarcane Research Station, Sirugamani, Trichy. Observation on germination percent, plant height, root length and crop vigour were observed in different clones and different planting materials of chewing cane. The results revealed that Thiruvalarsolai clone registered higher germination percent, plant height, root length and crop vigour. With respect to planting material ring budshowed higher germination percent, root length, SPAD Value and crop vigour. But taller plant height was noticed in single budded setts.
