Twenty one maize hybrids generated from a 7 X 7 diallel cross along with their parents and two standard checks viz., GAYMH-1 and HQPM-1 revealed that the cross PFSR-R2–1 X PFSR-R2-4registered significant heterosis over mid parent, better parent and HQPM- 1 standard check for grain yield. The same cross showed significant heterosis for other yield associated traits too. The study emphasized the need to commercially exploit single cross hybrids for their higher heterotic value and economic potential.
