Abstract

The present study was conducted with specific objective to study the knowledge of irrigated cotton production technology in Parbhani district. Five tahsils and five villages from each tahsil were selected randomly. Five farmers from each village were selected to comprise a sample of 125 respondents. Ex-Post Facto research design was used for the research study. Collected data were classified, tabulated and analyzed by using statistical methods like frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, correlation coefficient. It was noticed that majority of farmers had from middle age group. As regards the education, maximum farmers were educated up to primary school level followed by middle school level, semi-medium size of land holding, medium annual income, medium social participation, medium extension contact, medium sources of information and medium risk orientation. Majority of respondents had medium level of knowledge about irrigated cotton production technologies i.e. proper selection of soil, recommended method of irrigation, recommended quantity of FYM application etc.
