Abstract

The present study was conducted in Aurangabad district of the Marathwada region of Maharashtra state. From this district four tahsils namely were selected purposively. Six villages which have occupied major area under mango crop were selected. Thus twenty four villages were selected for the present study. From each village, five mango growers were selected randomly which comprise a sample of 120 mango growers for the study. Ex-post facto design approach was used for study. The data were collected with the help of pre designed interview schedule by contacting the sample mango growers personally. The analysis of data was carried out by using frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation and coefficient of correlation. It is noticed from the results that majority (50.00%) of the respondents had medium knowledge about mango production technology followed by high 30.00 per cent and low 20.00 per cent knowledge about mango production technology. Independent variables viz. mango growers, education, land holding, annual income, social participation, extension contact, sources of information, economic motivation, and risk orientation showed highly significant relation, whereas only farming experience showed non-significant relation with knowledge level of mango growers about recommended package of practices.
