Acrididae is the most important family of Orthoptera because majority of the locust species belongs to it. A survey of Acridid fauna of Jammu and Kashmir State, India was carried out during the period from 2009 to 2012. The collected materials include eight subfamilies having twenty three genera and thirty two species. Out of which two subfamilies, nine genera and nineteen species are reported first time from this region.
