Abstract

The selection of the shrub for each landscaping use is based on characters like, its floriferous nature and flowering phenology along with other growth parameters. Proper recording of the morphological characters helps in easy usage of shrubs in different landscape design appropriately. In the present study selected flowering shrubs were characterized based on their flower morphology. In the present study, quantitative characters like size of inflorescence, number of flowers produced, interval of flower production and persistence of inflorescence were recorded along with the qualitative characters like colour, fragrance etc. The shrubs showed wide variations in the parameters observed and can be used for different landscaping purposes accordingly.
