Abstract

The use of biofertilizers in grain legumes can be an alternative to expensive inorganic fertilizers, particularly for improving the production of food legumes. Field experiments were conducted consecutively for two years to study the effect of Rhizobium and AM fungi along with phosphatic fertilizer on the growth and yieldof redgram. Although individual as well as dual inoculations enhanced the growth and yield in redgram, the maximum increase was recorded withthe combined inoculation along with the application of 40 kg P2O5. It is evident from the results of the present study that the efficacy of Rhizobium was influenced by co inoculation with AM fungi along with the application of P2O5 in redgram.
