Abstract

Tomato leaf curl virus (TLCV) is a serious disease affecting the production of tomato in different parts of the world. Under Punjab conditions it affects rainy season tomato production and overall crop failures are not uncommon. In order to identify suitable hybrids for rainy season cultivation we screened 55 hybrids using artificial inocula maintained on susceptible plants and also under natural field conditions. We identified four tomato hybrids as promising with tolerance to TLCV along with high yield and good values for other traits of agronomical interest.
