In this investigation physiological studies are carried out for two fungi Alternaria alternate and Sclerotium rolfsii causing important diseases like bud rot and collar rot in marigold. Both the fungi grew well in PDA media and a temperature of 25-300c was found suitable for their growth and sporulation. Alternaria alternata grew in acidic pH and Sclerotium rolfsii grows best in pH 6–7.Sclerotium rolfsii grows best at high moisture levels and with lower humidity levels both growth and sclerotia production reduces.
