Abstract

The present experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of different seed extraction procedures on seed quality of bottle gourd cv. ABG-1 during Kharif 2014–15 at Department of Seed Science and Technology in the B.A. College of agriculture, Anand. The laboratory experiment was laid out in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three repetition and seven treatments of different seed extraction procedures (seed extracted by). The seed extraction procedures had significant effect on germination percentage, seedling length, seedling fresh weight, seedling dry weight, vigour index-I, vigour index-II and electrical conductivity. Significantly higher seed quality parameter germination percent (90%), seedling length (27.47 cm), seedling fresh weight (8900 mg), seedling dry weight (320 mg), vigour index- I (2329) and vigour index-II (27096) were noticed in seed extracted by 8% HCl as compare to other treatments.
