The study reavels that annual amortized cost of well in case of flat rate system per well was Rs. 1,403 in Amreli and Rs. 1,099 in Bhavnagar district. The amortized cost per acre-inch of water use in Amreli and Bhavnagar districts was found Rs. 31.4 and Rs. 35.5, respectively. The annual amortized cost of well in respect of pro-rata system observed that the annual amortized cost per well was Rs. 1,568 in Amreli and Rs. 1,138 in Bhavnagar district. The amortized cost per acre-inch of water use in Amreli and Bhavnagar districts was found to be Rs. 50.3 and Rs. 44.8, respectively. The investment per borewell at historical prices was worked out to be Rs. 57,906 in Amreli and Rs. 41,209 in Bhavnagar district. On the other hand, the investment per dugwell at historical prices for flat rate was worked out to be Rs. 77,144 for Amreli and Rs. 59,102 for Bhavnagar districts. The average life of borewells was found 15 and 14 years in Amreli and Bhavnagar districts, respectively, whereas the average life of dugwell was 33 and 41 years in Amreli and Bhavnagar districts, respectively.
