Abstract

The pathogen Macrophomina phaseolina and Rhizoctonia solani were isolated from mungbean. The bioagents viz., Trichoderma virde, T. harzianum, T virens and Pseudomonasfluorescena were tested for their antagonistic property against M. phaseolina and R. solani by dual culture method. All the biological agents were significantly superior over control in checking the growth of M.phaseolina and R. solani. All the antagonists suppressed the formation of sclerotia. Among all the biological agents T. viride was significantly superior biocontrol agent in inhibiting the growth of the pathogens.
