Abstract

Indigenous technical knowledge provides a valuable resources for sustainable development. Most of such knowledge is passed down from generation to generation, usually by words of mouth. In this study, an effort was made to explore the diversities of indigenous knowledge systems pertaining to human health among tribal community of the randomly selected villages of Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh. Data pertaining to study were collected by using the participatory approach, group discussions, participant learning and personal interview methods. Results indicate that tribal people are having their ancestral wisdom to cure many diseases. These indigenous practices of healthcare found to be appropriate an account of low cost, good efficiency and easy locally available.
