About 96 Bacillus species isolated from dairy foods were assayed for susceptibility to six antibiotics. Test was done using modified Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method. The most of Bacillus spp. was sensitive to all antibiotics. Bacillus sub ti l is and Bacillus cereus was sensitive to all antibiotics. Bacillus coagulans was resistance to Tetracycline, some strains of Bacillus circulans was resistance to Gentamycin, Erythromycin and Tetracycline, some strains of Bacillus megaterium was resistance to Chloramphenicol and some strains of Bacillus sphaericus was resistance to Tetracycline. Total 5 strains of Bacillus spp. was resistance to Chloramphenicol, 2 strains was resistance to Gentamycin, 3 strains was resistance to Cephalothin and 7 strains was resistance to Tetracycline. Our results showed that local strain is tougher in susceptibility to the antibiotics than standard strain.
