Abstract

Bacterial leaf blight caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo), is the major biotic destructive disease of rice. The use of resistant cultivars is the most effective way to control bacterial leaf blight disease. In this study, bacterial leaf blight resistant near isogenic lines have used and they haveconfirmed for the presence of bacterial leaf blight resistance genes such as, xa5, xa13, Xa4 and Xa21 using different molecular marker. This study was focused only on xa5 gene. Here, reported SNP markers specific to xa5 genes have used to distinguish BLB resistant lines from susceptible cultivars. Identification of SNPs had successfully carried out using sequencing technology.
