Abstract

Plant parasitic nematodes belonging to 22 species are reported to be associated with cotton in India, because of their damage to the cotton crop worldwide, they are a limiting factor in crop production Reniform nematode and Ralstonia solonacearum are also known to be economically important pest in cotton causing wilt. The present investigation on cotton wilt disease complex caused by Rotylenchulus reniformis and Ralstonia solanacearum comprised aspects related to management of the disease complex. Effective management of disease was obtain with treatment (phorate + neem cake) and phorate. The former was found significant in promoting good growth of cotton plant by influencing poor reproduction of nematodes.
