Crop loss assessments are necessary for evaluating the economic impact of an insect pest infestation and the benefit of particular control strategies. Investigations were carried out during kharif, 2012 at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya; Raipur (C.G.) on the grain yield loss percent was 1.66 percent in 10 percent leaf damaged plant by caterpillars (leaf feeders). Similarly, in 20, 30 and 40 percent leaf damaged plants grain yield loss was 2.05, 2.77 and 4.34 percent, respectively. In 10 percent girdle beetle infested plants the grain yield loss was estimated to be 5.13 percent.
