In order to evaluate insecticidal applications strategies along with different doses of flubendiamide 480 SC and fenvalerate 20 EC for the control of pod borer, Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) Hardwick in chickpea (Cicer arietinum Linnaeus), present investigations were conducted at Anand Agricultural University, Anand during 2011–12 and 2012–13. In comparison to fenvalerate 20 EC, flubendiamide 480 SC on concentration base (0.01%) applied on schedule base (first spray on the appearance of larval population, second at flowering on 50 per cent plants and third at pod setting on 50 per cent plants) found effective by recording the lowest eggs and larval population of H. armigera and pod damage. The highest yield of chickpea, economics and Net Insecticidal Cost Benefit Ratio (NICBR) was also recorded in the said treatment.
