An experiment “Assessment of different rootstock for softwood grafting incustard apple” was conducted during 2012–2013 at Commercial Fruit Nursery, College of Horticulture, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with six treatments of different rootstocks viz. Annona-2, Ramphal, Chandsili, NMK-1, Balanagar and Local and replicated three times. All the rootstocks were grafted with Balanagar scion in the month of February 2013. Observations on growth were recorded at 30 days intervals. Results of present investigation indicated that significantly maximum growth parameters and maximum percentage of Graft-take, length of scion, success per cent, number of branches, stock: scion ratio and salable per cent of grafts with vigorous growth of scion was achieved by Chandsili rootstock.
