The potentiality of two advanced free threshable mutant lines with high seed weight, days to heading, grains per spike, grain color, threshability and many other traits were investigated by the present study. Analysis of correlation indicated that yield is positively and significantly associated with its contributing morphological character in both F2 populations. However, it exhibited weak association with spike length, threshability and rachis. Strong positive association between threshability and rachis was evidenced. The cross DDK-1025 x ML-2 was identified as potential source for improving the traits like free threshability, grains per spike, grain weight and yield.
