Abstract

Fifteen selected tuberose genotypes (10 Single types viz., Calcutta Single, Hyderabad Single, Kahikuchi Single, Mexican Single, Navsari Local, Phule Rajani, Prajwal, Pune Single, Shringar, Variegated Single) + 5 Double types viz., Clacutta Double, Hyderabad Double, Pearl Double, Suvasini, Vaibhav) were screened for resistance against infection by the root knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita. Tuberose genotypes were tested by inoculating with 5000 eggs of Meloidogyne incognita. In the present study, the results have shown that all the tested genotypes are invariably susceptible to nematode (Meloidogyne incognita). Root galls were observed in the infected plants. All the developmental stages of Meloidogyne incognita were seen in the root galls.
