Sources for Getting Farm Information for Marathi Newspaper Agrowon from Maharashtra

Abstract

Editor of farm newspaper receives farm information from various authors those who were working in various institutions, source of such authors were according to State Agricultural Universities, Development Departments of Government such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Meteorology, Animal husbandry and Dairy Science, Extension, Irrigation and Co-operation, ICAR Institutes, Private institutes, NGO's, interest farm writers, Editors article, Progressive farmers and other writers. The contribution of State Agricultural Universities was (6.36 per cent) followed by Editorial (2.00 per cent) to the total number of sources of farm The personnel from the various development departments viz., Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Irrigation, Soil conservation, Meteorology and Cooperation have also contributed in supplying farm information to Agrowon was only 0.64 per cent. Information. The private institute contributes less than 1.00 per cent (i.e. 0.34 per cent) followed by Govt. Institutes (0.38 per cent), other sources (0.31 per cent). In other information source were written by the advocates, professors from non agricultural colleges, some political persons and institutes having the contribution in other information. Among the contribution of five universities, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri (60.92 per cent) has highest contribution in source of farm information for Agrowon Newspaper.
