Jambolan or Jamun (Syzygium cuminii L. Skeels) is an important indigenous under exploited minor fruit crop of India. An experiment was conducted to know the effect of media and bio-inoculants on seed germination and seedling growth of jamun. The results indicated that the earlier days taken for germination and other plant growth parameters viz., plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, fresh and dry weight, vigour index-I and II and root length were found to be maximum at all the months in the medium M1-red earth (2 part): sand (1 part): vermicompost (1 part) and in the bio-inoculant Glomus fasciculatum while the same were minimum in the control. With respect to interaction effects germination parameters, seedling height, number of leaves, stem diameter, fresh and dry weight and vigour index were found maximum in the medium M1-red earth (2 part): sand (1 part): vermicompost (1 part) with Glomus fasciculatum application and minimum was observed in the medium M0-red earth (2 part): sand(1 part): FYM (1 part) in control.
