The present investigation was carried out to study the dry matter accumulation and seed productivity evaluation of Ocimum genotypes during kharif season of 2007–2008 in randomized block design with three replications at the research area of medicinal and aromatic plants, department of crop physiology, college of agriculture, J.N.K.V.V., Jabalpur (M.P). The results revealed that among the genotypes significantly maximum plant height was recorded by O. basilicum JBP (74.0cm) followed by AIC369247 (65.7cm). Whereas, genotype AIC 369247 recorded highest leaf area duration (44.71 m2 day−1) and seed yield (2097.9 kg ha−1) followed by O. basilicum JBP (2088.9 kg/ha), due to higher number of seeds per inflorescence and maximum dry matter accumulation (g m−2) for leaves, inflorescence, stem, primary and secondary branches than rest of the genotypes respectively.
