Biology of pod sucking bug, C. gibbosa was studied under laboratory conditions on pigeonpea variety viz., H03–41 in vitro at prevailing room temperature 26±1°C and relative humidity 75 per cent from mid October 2013 to January 2014. The results revealed that the pre-oviposition, oviposition and postoviposition period averaged 11.5, 13.2 and 8.9 days, respectively. The fecundity was 111.2 eggs/female from which 82.06 per cent eggs hatched. The incubation period was 6.35 days. There were five nymphal instars with a mean of 1.8, 2.4, 3.2, 4.3 and 5.7 days for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th nymphal instars respectively and the total nymphal duration recorded was 17.4 days. Total adult life of male was 13.8 and that of a female 17.5 days. Total life cycle was completed in 23.75 days on an average.
