Available Boron and Zinc Status and their Relationship with Soil Properties and its Content in Wheat Crop of Bilara Tehsil, District Jodhpur of Rajasthan

Abstract

Seventy surface soil and wheat plant samples each were collected from thirty nine different villages of Bilara tehsil of jodhpur District (Rajasthan) India. The soils were analysed for texture, physico-chemical properties and status of available boron and zinc. Grain and straw of Wheat Plants separately analysed for determination boron and zinc content. The majority of soils of the tract were found sandy loam and sandy clay loam in nature. Soils of the study area were found non-calcareous in nature. Majority of soils have low organic carbon and cation exchange capacity. On the basis of pH2 and EC2 values, soils of the tract were found moderately alkaline and non-saline in nature. Majority of soils under study were found deficient in available boron and zinc. The availability of available zinc and boron in soils significantly influenced by soil properties like: texture, organic carbon, CaCO3, CEC and pH2 of soils.
