The effect of Rhizobium phaseoli, Bacillus megaterium and Glomusfasciculatum (AM fungi) in different carrier materials was studied for their field performance in french bean variety Arka Komal during Rabi 2009. The results of the study has showed that full recommended dose of NPK, FYM, and combination of Rhizobium phaseoli, Bacillus megaterium and Glomusfasciculatum (AM fungi) in pressmud was found best in improving pod yield per hectare and seed yield. Microbial biodiversity in combined application has significantly influenced the number of pods per plant and number of seeds per pod. Maximum number of pods per plant (15.1), weight of podsper plant (94.3g), wt. of pods per hectare. (18.9t/ha.), number of seeds per pod (5.33) was recorded in the treatment of press mud based Rhizobium phaseoli, Bacillus megaterium, Glomusfasciculatum (T6) followed by vermicompost based Rhizobium phaseoli, Bacillus megaterium, Glomusfasciculatum. The lowest yield components were recorded in uninoculated control plants (T1) (10.6, 65.3, 10.4, 3.9 number of pods, weight of pods, pod yield and number of seeds respectively). Maximum yield per hectare was recorded with the application of pressmud based Rhizobium phaseoli, Bacillus megaterium, Glomusfasciculatum (T6) which was statistically on par with the next best treatment with vermicompost based Rhizobium phaseoli, Bacillus megaterium, Glomusfasciculatum(T12). The lowest yield (T1) was recorded in uninoculated control plants which were supplemented only with FYM. The highest number of pods per plant, pod yield per hectare and number of seeds per pod was recorded in the treatment of recommended NPK with press mud based microbial cultures of Rhizobium phaseoli, B. megaterium and G. fasciculatum(T6) followed by the same microbial consortia in vermicompost as carrier. The lowest number of pods per plant and french bean yield per hectare was recorded in uninoculated control plants supplemented only with recommended dose of FYM (Tl).
