A survey based study was carried out to ascertain constraints faced by rural women in decision making pattern and participation in animal husbandry enterprise in korba district of Chhattisgarh. The socio-personal study revealed that majority of the women were middle aged (69.20%) in illiterate (42.50%), belonged toother backwardcaste and were engaged in animal husbandry practices. where 61.66 per cent of respondents experienced in animal husbandry. Majority (70.00%) respondents had medium herd size. Majority of the respondents (57.50%) had improved cow breed, 75.00 per cent improved buffalo breed and 62.50 per cent had improved goat breed. Majority of the respondents obtained milk more than 15 litres/day/family. Maximum 73.33per cent of respondents had temporary house for animals. Majority (97.50%) of the respondents reported about the lack of veterinary hospitals in nearby village, 90.83 per cent of respondents faced lack of veterinary extension officers in the village. More than half of the respondents reported for lack of knowledge about improved animal husbandry practices.
