Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at GKVK, UAS, Bengaluru-65 showed that cowpea cv. KBC-2 seeds treated with gouch @ 3 g/kg had recorded higher plant height (44.20 cm), number of leaves (7.20), number of branches (9.63), required lesser days to 50% flowering (54.33) and maturity (95.00). This seed treatment also resulted in more number of flower clusters per plant (10.83), matured pods per plant (22.24), higher pod yield per plant (31.14 g), pod yield per hectare (27.25 q) and seed yield per hectare (21.80 q) and was on-par with garlic paste seed treatment @ 100 g/kg and much superior over control.
