A field experiment was conducted to study the economic analysis of Indian mustard (Brassica juncea L.) cultivars under different sowing dates during winter (rabi) season 2007–08 and 2008–09 at experimental farm of Department of Agronomy, Forages and Grassland Management, CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. The experiment was carried out in factorial RBD with three replications consisted four sowing dates viz., October 10, October 20, October 30 and November 9 and three varieties viz., RCC-4, Kranti and Varuna. Crop sown on 10 October, recorded significantly more gross return (Rs. 32558 and Rs. 32233), net return (Rs. 19783 and Rs. 19459) and B: C ratio (1.6 and 1.5) during 2007–08 and 2008–09, respectively. Amongst varieties, RCC-4 recorded significantly higher gross returns (Rs. 27578), net return (Rs. 14803) and B: C ratio (1.2) in first year and during second year all genotypes behaved alike.
