DUS Characterisation of Rice Germplasm Collected from Madhya Pradesh

Forty three traits were observed in thirty seven varieties of rice collected from eight districts of Madhya Pradesh. To establish distinctiveness among varieties characterisation was done using DUS descriptor for rice and results indicated that morphological variations exist in collected varieties, these morphological traits play key role in varietal identification which can be utilised for not only for protection and conservation of varieties but also selection for further breeding program.
