Influence of Host Plants on The Susceptibility of Spodoptera litura (Fabricius) to Certain Insecticides

Abstract

LC50 of tested insecticides were determined in third instar larvae by leaf disc bio-assay. The results indicated that the S. litura larvae reared on cotton were more susceptible to emamectin benzoate (LC50 0.21 ppm), lambdacyhalothrin(LC500.66 ppm) and spinosad (LC50 0.0029) than those rearedon castor and artificial diet. The artificial diet fed larvae showed significantly more susceptible to flubendiamide (LC50 0.09 ppm), indoxacarb (LC50 3.13 ppm) and lambdacyhalothrin (LC500.20 ppm) than those reared on cotton and castor.
