Among the different insecticides evaluated on field pea during Rabi, 2012 under field conditions acetamiprid 0.004, clothianidin 0.025 and imidacloprid 0.005% proved most effective; and azadirachtin 0.0006, neem oil 0.5 and triazophos 0.04% proved less effective treatments against whitefly. All insecticides exhibited fairly effective against thrips, whereas imidacloprid 0.005, thiamethoxam0.008, clothianidin 0.025 andacephate 0.075% proved most effective treatments. The highest grain yield was recorded in the treatment of imidacloprid (811.1kg/ha), closely followed by clothianidin, acetamiprid and thiamethoxam. Among various insecticides tested acetamiprid proved to be the most effective and economical treatment with the highest protection cost: benefit ratio (PCBR) (1: 20.36), followed by imidacloprid (1: 18.91) dichlorvos (1: 9.55), thiamethoxam (1: 8.39), triazophos (1: 7.96) and acephate (1: 6.80).
