Role of Job Performance, OCB and Rewards on Employee Morale: A Corporate Struggle for Employee’s Efficiency

Abstract

In every organisation, people mingle in social groups and demonstrate various interactive behaviours such as interpersonal behaviour, group behaviour, citizenship behaviour, etc., thus, influencing productivity. Job performance and rewards together have a noteworthy optimistic effect on job satisfaction which builds the employee morale to work efficiently in an organisation. Individuals who perform at higher level get promoted, appropriately awarded and honoured. A satisfied, happy, efficient, dedicated and hard-working employee is the leading advantage for any organisation. The success or failure of the business depends widely upon the employee’s morale. Success ratio depends on high morale and leads to efficiency; however, low morale drives dissatisfaction in work itself. In this study, an effort has been made to study the employee’s morale analysing the job incumbent’s behaviour, organisational reward and how that impacts employee’s efficiency. Effort also is made to verify if gender differences have any effect on building morale among the employees in the organisation.
