These mechanisms may consist of performance management, training and development, potential appraisal, reward management, quality of work life and so on. Out of all the HRD mechanisms, the most pivotal one for augmenting employee competency, there by employee productivity is training and development mechanism within an organisation. In the telecom industry, considering the present scenario of growth and opportunity, focus on training and development is inevitable. The study endeavours to find out the impetus on training and development in BSNL Odisha.
