Abstract

Subject to the highly increasing competition in almost all sectors especially in the service sector, the analysis of emotional intelligence competency and job satisfaction of employees has become one of the most crucial research subjects nowadays to get the highest productivity from employees in almost all levels of the company. This study was undertaken to understand the emotional intelligence and performance level of employees of two power sectors of Odisha, i.e., the Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) and the Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC). This study focuses on understanding the emotional intelligence of the different categories of employees, i.e., managers and supervisors and its link to their performance level on the job. The findings of this study indicate that emotional intelligence has an impact on the performance level of managers and supervisors.
