Abstract

Now is the appropriate time, when mushrooming B-schools are searching for ways to differentiate and carve a niche for themselves to become the best among the best. In an era of globalisation and unprecedented competition, this is the time to think how business schools can gear up and reinvent themselves to become centres of excellence other than merely focusing on running yet another B-school. In this study, an endeavour has been made for solution of the crises and the issues of B-schools of Odisha. This study highlights the fact that talented employees are the most valuable assets to any winning company; B-schools too, in order to become winners in the globally competitive world, need to acquire, develop, motivate and retain the most talented faculty for which human resource management (HRM) practices are imperative. It covers varied dimensions and nuances of HR in B-schools in a lucid manner and provides an opportunity to know the vital role HRM plays in shaping the competitiveness of B-schools to become centres of excellence. The researcher in a meticulous manner went about revealing the breadth of the themes of HRM, offering profound and practical insights to transform HRM practices in B-schools of Odisha.
