Employee engagement has emerged as a popular organisational concept in recent years. It is the level of commitment and involvement of an employee towards the organisation and its values. Proper attention on engagement strategies will increase the organisational effectiveness in terms of higher productivity, profits, quality, customer satisfaction, employee retention and increased adaptability. This study was designed to determine the factors affecting employee engagement in Orissa Power Transmission Corporation Ltd., Bhubaneswar. A total of one hundred fifty respondents were selected randomly to collect the required information. The result of the study showed that the factors like interpersonal relationship, career growth opportunities, employee welfare, reward and recognition, meaningful work, loyalty, organisation culture, work life balance, growth awareness and work autonomy influence the engagement of employees. Thus, there is a need to address these factors for improving employee engagement in order to improve the overall effectiveness of the organisation.
