Sex composition is one of the basic demographic characteristics, which is extremely vital for any meaningful demographic analysis. Sex ratio is defined as the number of females per thousand male in a population. Sex ratio is an index of socio-economic conditions of an area and an important tool for regional analysis. Imbalances in sex composition and its regional variations provide an ideal ground for population geographers for analyzing the regional character of population data. For the purpose of present study Tehsils of Shekhawati Region have been taken as a basic unit of investigation. The present study aims to examine the spatial variation pattern at Tehsil level and temporal variation of sex ratio in rural urban area of study area during 2001–2011. For the purpose of present study Tehsils have been taken as a basic unit of investigation. The period selected for the present study is 2001–2011 census year.
