Abstract

The growth of agriculture is prerequisite for overall development of Indian economy. Agriculture occupies an important place in the economy of India and more especially in the state of Uttar Pradesh, where agriculture plays a dominant role as it not only provides food to million persons but also supplies raw material to numerous agro based industries. The increase in income level and important in the quality of majority of people in rural areas is possible only by improving agricultural production and productivity particularly of small and marginal farmers. Agriculture is mainly of subsistence type. Western Uttar Pradesh is an important region of Uttar Pradesh where the agriculture in main occupation and is taking place at a fast pace and the institutional and technological factors are proportionately changing.
