A floating platform tied with cable bracing system to concrete blocks anchored to the seabed will house the generators and turbines. The system offers a solution to a number of problems faced by an ocean current generated system. The problem of marine bio-fouling of turbine blades is unavoidable but it is reduced as the proposed system allows the turbine to be lifted for maintenance and even replacement. The use of fibre composite cables increases the durability in ocean environment. The author concludes that while more research and investigation are required, the proposed system might be challenging and promising when compared to the previous ones.(9 figures, 2 tables, 13 references)
