Abstract

Education is a powerful tool for social change, social mobility. It is a continuous process which transfers the morals, values; of our culture to the next generation. It enables to develop, and build up the new generation of our nation. In spite of this Computer and Technological issues play an important role in teaching learning process. Teaching and learning are the two independent and psychological processes but they have to go in hand by hand where ever teaching and learning process comes. This paper provides the brief history of Computers in Education and History of CAI. This report explores computer based practices like Computer Assisted Instruction programme. This paper deals with principles of Computer Assisted Instruction helpful during designing of CAI programme. Successfully implementation of CAI programme leads out the inculcation of CAI related skills and values among the learner. The various modes of CAI tutorial, drill and practice, simulation, problem solving, discovery mode, and gaming mode and related pedagogical aspects are briefly discussed in this issue. This report also explores the pedagogical aspects of CAI such as Programmed Instruction, Herbert Ideology, and Operant conditioning learning, mastery learning, Constructivist learning these aspects are explored in this article.
