Abstract

National Curriculum Framework (2005) emphasized the judicious use of technology for specific learning needs. To fulfill these needs learning can be enhanced by using innovative, best learning styles and instructional material. How to make use of appropriate learning style, to make best instructional material for learning is the challenging task of teacher educators? CAI program is the effective instructional material for learning of school students in today's technology world and constructivist paradigm. Teacher educators can implement Self Directed learning approach (SDL) that is one of the most effective learning styles to prepare CAI program. Teacher educator can provide Instructional Scaffolding which includes teacher's mediation for Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) when student teachers develop CAI program. Present study focuses on the SDL approach which is helpful to develop CAI program as an effective instructional material by providing instructional scaffolding to student teachers. By observing and studying CAI programs teacher educators tried to give action plan to student teachers to develop the CAI program as the effective learning resource.
