Abstract

The interactive feature of radio has been extended to instructional program, which has made radio instruction not only interactive but also useful. It has enabled the learners to listen, interact, raise questions or seek clarifications live from the experts. Instructional radio broadcast requires a number or series of scripts in target curricular areas. The scripts can well be developed by the teachers who know the content as well as the social, economic, and cultural background of the students. However, they need to be trained in the technicalities and dynamics in script-writing, and also the pedagogy of media and curricular transaction through radio medium. This paper examines radio as a pedagogical medium with special focus on its formats and scripts.
