Water borne diseases have become a serious health problem worldwide. Water scarcity can have severe consequences resulting in water-borne diseases such as cholera, malaria and diarrhea. This study aimed to assess the awareness regarding water borne diseases and its prevention. A non- experimental descriptive study design was selected for the study. A total of 30 women in the age group of 25 to 45 years were selected using non probability purposive sampling technique. The data was collected using structured questionnaire by self report method. The findings of the study revealed that (63.3%) of the samples had average knowledge, 13.3% of the samples had above average knowledge and 23.3% of the samples had below average knowledge regarding the common water borne diseases and its prevention. There was a statistically significant association between awareness with education at p<0.001 level of significance. The study concludes that awareness needs to be created on common waterborne diseases and its prevention.
