Abstract

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of natural and holistic medicine. It promotes good health and balanced living by bringing about healthy and natural lifestyle changes. For thousands of years Ayurveda focuses much on digestive system and provides guidance to include ayurvedicand medicinal herbs to lead a healthy lifestyle. The ayurvedic principle of consuming freshly prepared foods and healthy herbs helps in promoting healthy gut microbes. Several research studies also illustrate the connection between Ayurveda and its therapeutic effects on gut microbes and health.
