Prevalence and associated risk factors of hypertension: An cross sectional study

Abstract

Hypertension is a major major risk factor for cardiovascular disease and other complications this study100 urban people in porur. In this study simple random technique was used self structured questionnaire the data was collected. The results of the survey showed the level of knowledge about hypertensionamongurbanpeople5%ofpeoplehaveinadequateknowledge, 35% of people have moderate knowledge, and 60%of people have adequate knowledge. The mean score for inadequate knowledge is(0.73),moderate knowledge is(1.56) and adequate knowledge is (12.33) and standard deviation score for inadequate knowledge is (0.69), moderate knowledge is (0.81) and adequate knowledge is (1.30). Hence the findings of present study concluded that, the urban people had adequate knowledge regarding hypertension.
