Cancer is currently a major public health problem in India. The highest number of cancer cases in India is detected from Kerala. In one year, Kerala has roughly 35,000 new cancer cases occurs. The present study aimed to assess the awareness regarding the effect of carcinogenic substance used in home environment. A non experimental descriptive study design was selected for the study. A total of 60 women in the age group of 25 to 65 years were selected from Vazhappally panchayath using convenience sampling technique. The data was collected using structured questionnaire by self-report method. The findings of the study revealed that (63%) of samples had average knowledge There was a statistically significant association between awareness with education at p < 0.001 level of significance the study. The study concluded that awareness need to be created among the public on effect of carcinogenic substance used in home environment.
