Risk for hypochondriasis among nursing students

Abstract

A descriptive survey approach was used. Using whitely index scale the data was collected from 100 students by using proportionate stratified random sampling technique The results revealed that 40% may have hypochondriasis with the mean score of 30.22 and SD 10.05. A significant association was seen between boarding of the student and risk for hypochondriasis. The study concluded that there is a need to assess hypochondriasis, particularly in professionals such as nurses, doctors, IT professionals etc.
