Abstract

Disasters of natural order could cause in any part of the nation. To mitigate disaster a considerable work on capacity building is of utmost importance. Research around the world focus on the importance of capacity building and improvement of disaster information system. Information system has 3 impoertant phases such as proactive information, information during disaster and post disaster information. Use of disaster management data base includes three context preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery. At each phase the need of information is different and requirements of personnel are different. Though the process is cumbersome the national disaster management information system works to create the system which are either implemented prior to disaster or after disaster and many work on international funding.
